Position: Lighting Artist

 

Pay Range: $50,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and complexity of lighting.

Job Description: We are assembling a talented and dedicated animated film production crew for an exciting new project. If you have a passion for animation and a desire to bring stories to life through visual storytelling, we want to hear from you. Join us in creating unforgettable characters and immersive worlds that inspire and entertain audiences of all ages.

 

Responsibilities:

• Create and adjust lighting setups to enhance the mood, atmosphere, and storytelling of each scene.

• Collaborate with the art director, layout artists, and compositors to achieve the desired look and feel.

• Incorporate lighting effects, shadows, and reflections to add depth and dimension to the animation.

• Iterate on lighting set-ups based on feedback from stakeholders and production requirements.

• Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality lighting within the production schedule.

• Build and collaborations to expand our marketing reach.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Animation, Computer Graphics, Visual Effects, or a related field.

• Proven creativity and innovation finding solutions to technical challenges and achieving desired lighting effects.

• Effective communication skills, should be able to take direction and feedback and incorporate it into their lighting setups.

• Regimented time-management skills to be able to work efficiently and meet deadlines while maintaining the quality of their work.

• An in-depth understanding of lighting principles such as natural lighting, artificial lighting, shadows, reflections, and global illumination.

• A strong portfolio showcasing previous lighting work is essential.
