Position: Background Painter
Pay Range: $40,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and complexity of backgrounds.

Job Description: We are assembling a talented and dedicated animated film production crew for an exciting new project. If you have a passion for animation and a desire to bring stories to life through visual storytelling, we want to hear from you. Join us in creating unforgettable characters and immersive worlds that inspire and entertain audiences of all ages.
Responsibilities:

Paint detailed and immersive backgrounds that establish the setting and atmosphere of each scene.

Collaborate with the art director and layout artists to ensure consistency in style and tone.

Incorporate lighting and color theory to enhance the mood and storytelling of the film.

Iterate on background paintings based on feedback from stakeholders and production requirements.

Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality artwork within the production schedule.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Visual Effects, or a related field.

Strong artistic skills, and a solid understanding of perspective, composition, lighting, and texture.

Strong understanding of color theory and composition, and experience in digital painting.

Creative, innovative, adaptable, and able to work with different animation styles and techniques.

Proficiency in digital software such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, or similar programs used for digital painting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with art directors, lead painters, and other members of the animation team.
